ATNZ Apprenticeships Hero Video | Corporate Video Case Study

Intro

The brief

ATNZ needed a video that would:

  • Promote engineering apprenticeships in a way that feels modern, confident, and real

  • Work in noisy, distracting trade show environments (where viewers may only watch a few seconds)

  • Still make sense as a complete story when viewed start-to-finish online

  • Encourage future apprentices (and influencers like parents/whānau) to learn more

Intent

The core intent was simple: capture attention fast, showcase the opportunity, and make apprenticeships feel achievable and exciting.

This video was created to support:

  • Trade shows across Aotearoa (looping on display screens)

  • Digital channels for wider reach and repeat viewing

Our approach

To make this work in both physical and online settings, we focused on:

  • Strong pacing and clear structure (so it lands even if viewers jump in halfway through)

  • High-energy visuals that read well on large screens

  • A story that keeps it human — real people, real pathway, real future

We also designed the edit to perform without relying solely on sound, knowing trade show floors can be loud.

Deliverables

Delivered assets included:

  • 1x hero video (2.5 minutes)

  • 2–4 short cut-downs for social (15–45 seconds)

  • Captioned version for silent viewing

Viewing platforms

This hero video was produced for:

  • Trade show display screens (looping playback)

  • YouTube

  • Facebook

The result

A high-impact hero video that:

  • Stops people mid-walk at trade shows

  • Clearly communicates the opportunity

  • Works as evergreen content online for ongoing promotion
